Not sure i'm really qualified to write a guide to all things hunter as everything I know has been pulled from other blogs so I kind of leach off of their hard work lol. There will be links to the sites I use most frequently for hunter related awsomeness (usually it's the WHU) so that you can discover these great sites full of a really hard working and loyal hunter community...now, where to begin?...
Spec info
So we'll start with all the endgame talents, shot priorities, glyphs, pet talents etc. I think this is what most people will need quick access to.
BM - Talents - Shot Priority - Glyphs - Haste Plateau's
SV - Talents - Shot Priority - Glyphs - Haste Plateau's
MM - Talents - Shot Priority - Glyphs - Haste Plateau's
Don't obsess too much over the haste plateau's, I play as SV and as long as I can fit 3 cobra shots in between my explosive shot then I am happy, after that it's just a case of seeing what works best for you as gear and therefore stats change from person to person.
Other things that you will probably need quick access to are the Gems, Enchants and Reforging guides. You will find that as soon as you hit level 85 and start on the normal dungeons and then heroics and into raiding, your gear will change quite regularly and will need to refer back to these 3 links to optimize your setup. While we're on the subject of optimzing our setup I recommend that you bookmark Zeherah's Female Dwarf, this is a great site that allows you to mess around with different gear, gems, reforging etc to see how it will affect your dps. Also WoW Reforge is a very usefull site if you want to make sure you hit that 8% hit cap exactly so as not to waste any stats during reforging.
I can't advise you enough to have a browse thru the full Guides section of Warcraft Hunter Union as it has great guides on other things like basic and advanced skills, Transmogrification, Stat caps and loads more, in fact Frostheim's site in general is a fantasic place for hunters and is the first site that I visit most days and encourage you to do the same if you plan to play as a hunter regularly.
Pet Info
To start with, if you are unsure about which pet you should be using for optimal dps then click here.
Cataclysm changed things for our use of pets as they now bring with them a group/raid buff, so while you may find a cat best for everyday questing etc it may not be your best choice in a raid as someone else may well be providing that +agi buff. It is our responsibility to bring the right pet for the group, there is a handy addon called Raid Checklist that you can use to see who brings what to the party. I usually carry with me a cat (+agi), a wolf (+crit), a windserpent (+8% spell damage), a moth (for the interupt as SV doesn't get one) and my trusty turtle for when things go pear shaped or I'm soloing instances.
The spec's that I've linked above are for the optimal dps, you may want to change them slightly for a given situation or if you find your pet dies alot then you may want to choose a talent or two that provides more stamina or armor etc.
I think I'll leave it there for just now although I do hope to add more content to this guide soon covering macro's, keybinds etc. I'll try to get a list of good links for hunters added to the sidebar later today as well, in fact I think we could maybe get a list of links together of good sites for all classes but i'll need your help to suggest good sites that you use as my knowledge is a bit limited to hunter type stuff.
Anyway I hope the above info is useful to someone :)
